Gary Norman, class of 1993.
Inspired by his late mother, Mary Ann Norman, his father, as well as by his friends, such as, his grammar school principal to be dedicated to community service, Mr. Norman has encouraged others around him to contemplate issues more deeply and to find ways to strive to improve the quality of life and opportunity of fellow citizens.
Mr. Norman is an attorney, with licenses in Ohio and in Maryland. In 2009-10, he will serve as the Chair of the Animal Law Section of the Maryland State Bar Association. He is presently leading the planning for the first-ever 2010 MSBA animal law symposium. He is the Immediate Past President of the Maryland Area Guide Dog Users, Inc., an advocacy and education based non-profit that he established. In his workaday world, he is an attorney in health care reimbursement appeals.
He is also the founding principle of - Norman Access and Conflict Resolution Consultants Group. His website for the firm, which provides a range of legal and non-legal services, is gnormanlaw.com.
He is a member of the Fulbright, Senior Specialists, Candidate Roster and is also an alumnus of the American Marshall Memorial Fellowship. Mr. Norman is a well-published author, a noted speaker, and also has plans to campaign for elected office in the future. He is the author of his first book chapter, The Disabled, Service Animals and the Law, Ch. 6, which will be published as part of a larger anthology by the American Bar Association on the new field of animal law.
His two favorite friends are his wife and his dog guide, his diminishing past time is voraciously reading works on biography, history, and classical literature, and his favorite places are Mexican eating establishments and the pool.
